Complete electronic and machine shops are available to support undergraduate and graduate research.
Instructional Facilities (Undergraduate Studies Laboratory, Undergraduate Fluids and Thermodynamics Laboratory, and Instrumentation and Mechatronics Laboratory).
The Department of Mechanical Engineering research facilities include twenty-one research laboratories and sites covering research in eleven categories. The department maintains extensive computing facilities and software to support research and instruction.
Faculty and graduate students frequently use workstations in support of their research using advanced computational and data acquisition software, e.g. computational fluid dynamics codes such as FIDAP, stress analysis using such packages as SolidWorks and COSMOS, and LabView data acquisition software. All departmental computers are connected to the campus network, providing substantial computational flexibility. Numerous plotters and printing options are available. A full-time Computer Support Specialist, supports departmental computing requirements. Computing Facilities.
