Tau Beta Pi Outstanding Sophomore Michael Basden

June 16, 2008 -Michael Basden grew up in Kemmerer, Wyoming. He has always enjoyed mathematics and chemistry so it seemed natural that he choose to major in chemical engineering. Once finished with his undergraduate degree he hopes to continue his education in a graduate program. Eventually he plans to find a career as a researcher.

Michael has worked on two research projects thus far: a water wave equation project in the mathematics department and the spider silk project in the Department of Chemical Engineering. He is active in the American Institute of Chemical Engineers and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
