American Water Works Association (AWWA) / Water Environment Federation (WEF) Student Chapter

The Student Chapter of the American Water Works Association and Water Environment Federation (AWWA / WEF) is made up of undergraduate and graduate students who have a general interest in Environmental Engineering. Our group is affiliated with the Rocky Mountain Section of the AWWA (RMSAWWA) and the Rocky Mountain Water Environment Association (RMWEA). Our group works with these two organizations as well as with local environmental, water, and wastewater professionals in the form of field trips, seminars, and workshops. Through these interactions our members are able to get the real world experiences and knowledge that is needed to prepare them for being tomorrow’s Environmental Engineers. In addition to these structured activities our group goes hiking, biking and camping trips in addition to other fun activities that allow us to enjoy Wyoming’s natural beauty!


Rocky Mountain Section AWWA (RMSAWWA)

RMSAWWA is dedicated to the promotion of public health and welfare in the provision of drinking water of unquestionable quality and sufficient quantity. RMSAWWA strives to be the pre-eminent resource for education, training, information, and research for all facets of the water industry, in the Rocky Mountain region.

Rocky Mountain Water Environment Federation (RMWEA)

The RMWEA is a leading organization of dedicated and knowledgeable professionals collectively working together to preserve and enhance the watershed environments originating in the states of Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico. The mission of the RMWEA is to:

• Advance and promote effective and efficient wastewater treatment processes and technologies
• Advance the professional development of members
• Educate the public in preserving and enhancing our water
• Be proactive on water issues
• Build a positive professional image for the Association and its members
• Promote a sustainable environment through reuse of water and residuals.
