Engineering Shop

Mission: support the college educational and teaching objectives, support funded and unfunded research.

Policies: The machine shop is open to faculty, staff, and students, of the college of engineering, for the fabrication, modification, and or repair of college related instructional and research requirements. Undergraduate teaching support is our first priority and funded UW research support, (college projects have precedence), then unfunded engineering college projects.

Funded projects are currently billed at the rate of $35/hr.

Anyone needing work done by the shop should fill out a Project Sheet.

Capabilities: We do precision machining and turning of ferrous, non-ferrous, plastics, etc.; our welding area is equipped to do MIG or TIG welding. We utilize Master-CAM software in conjunction with our three axis-machining center.
